REGIONAL SALES MANAGER (EUROPE)
Sea Recovery Corporation (a company of the Danfoss Group) has an open position for a European Regional Sales Manager. This is a highly visible position with the responsibility for the sale of watermakers (saltwater desalination equipment) into the European Commercial Ship Building and Off-Shore Market.
SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
The European Regional Sales Manager is a direct sales position. The successful candidate will be required to develop and execute effective sales strategies that meet the Company’s sales goals and objectives. As a Regional Manager the candidate will be expected to not only service existing customers, but also cultivate new business with existing customers and new customers. Other responsibilities will include the monitoring of competitor activity, evaluation of market trends/opportunities, contract negotiations, forecasting, regional reports, and budget management.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Visiting the customers and prospective customers for face to face meetings
• Develops and implements strategic sales plans that correlate with corporate objectives/strategies
• Sets performance goals for regional distributors and agents
• Responsible for channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, goals, and forecasting
• Represent the Company at trade association meetings and shows to promote the Company’s products
• Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with the distributors and agents
• Joint meetings with key clients, assisting distributors and agents’ sales representative with maintaining relationships, negotiations, and closing deals
• Identifying new product opportunities, and/or product, and service changes; surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 5-8 years experience within sales of technical products either direct or through distribution / agents network
• Experience selling to either the European Off-shore or the Commercial Shipbuilding industry highly desired
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral in English and preferably at least one another European language
• Candidate must be self motivated and possess a tenacious work ethic
• You must have a personal track record of being successful with direct account management i.e. meeting your revenue targets as well as a history of personal
initiatives that contributed to the growth of a region, territory or market
• University Degree and MBA desired, but we are flexible for the right candidate
• Must be able to travel an estimated 100 plus days per year
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
The Regional Sales Manager will be located at Danfoss’ facility in Odense, Denmark and will reports directly to the Director of the Commercial BA situated in California USA. There is no relocation package for this position.
