SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
Sea Recovery Corporation is currently in search of a Machinist.The main purpose of this position is to program and set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and numerical control(NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts. 80% of time is spent running machines and 10% of time is spent setting them up. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Study blueprints, sketches,drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and set up requirements.
• Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
• Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig bores, grinders, and shapers.
• Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
• Verifies performance of finished workpiece to specification.
• Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
• Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly.
• Confers with engineers,production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
• Programs, creates programs using mastercam. Maintains software.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 3 years experience is required.
Proficient in machine operation and programming with Fadal and Haas machines with Fanue controls is essential.
Position requires the ability to follow work instructions and priorities with attention to detail.
Excellent safety record and work habits are required.
Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate a positive approach is a must.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one on one and group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add,subtract,multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Mastercam and autocad software.
