Job Title: Mechanical Designer
 

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
Sea Recovery Corporation is currently seeking a MECHANICAL SYSTEM DESIGN ENGINEER for our Rancho Dominguez office (Northwest Long Beach Area). This position researches, plans, and designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems, and directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems by performing the following duties.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties & responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Researches and analyzes data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
  • Designs products or systems such as R.O. systems and associated products.
  • Plans and directs engineering and production personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and development of methods and procedures for testing products or systems.
  • Directs and coordinates fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
  • Coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment.
  • Work with manufacturing to optimize maximum potential of machines and equipment for production.
  • Designs products and systems to optimize and interface machines, hardware, and software.
  • Evaluates field installations and recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or equivalent; or four to ten years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Mathematical Skills

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of ACT! Contact Management software, Microsoft Excel and Word software.
